ChemE Car
Welcome to Stanford's ChemE Car
Our student-led organization integrates skills from chemical, mechanical, and electrical engineering to build a chemically powered vehicle from scratch. We compete at the American Institute of Chemical Engineering Competition every Spring.

Uytengsu Teaching Lab
Stanford has teaching labs on the first floor of Shriram called the Uytengsu Teaching Lab, or the UTL. After filling out safety forms, performing trainings with ChemE Car coordinator, you will get approved to start working on the projects. The UTL is equipped with the latest lab technology including Chemical Reactors, Fast protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC), 3D Printers, Solar Simulators, and so much more!
Projects & Current Initiatives
As we construct the car, the ChemE Car Team runs through three main sub-teams: Power (figuring out the reaction the car runs on), Stopping (designing the stopping mechanism for controlling distance), and Chassis (building the body of the car itself). Within these main sub-teams we have different roles and initiatives that members can take leadership on.
